Taiyru vada (curd vada)

    Today, I'm going to share my most most favourite recipe taiyru vada (curd vada)

    It was so yummy, right dish to have in  summer. Kids will love this dish. 

    It was so soft, very buttery to have. Whenever I prepare vada, immediately I drop some vada's on curd. Making of taiyru vada is so so easy and workless recipe. 

    Follow my vada/medu vada recipe  to make taiyru vada. If you prepared vada means it will be so easy to prepare curd vada. You can drop some hot vada on curd else can also drop left over vada. Both has good taste. But personally I like hot vada on cool curd. It will melt in your mouth.

   Firstly, soak urud dal for 2-3 hours. Grined it as thick paste without adding more amount of water. Add oinon, green chille, asafodeta (hing), coriander leaves, salt, backing powder in vada batter.

   Heat required amount of oil in khadi. Before taking the vada batter in hand just apply some water in hand. Through this batter will not stick on your hand. Maintain temperature. Take some vada batter in hand put hole on Centre part of vada by using your thump finger. Drop vada one by one on oil.Flip both the side, till it become golden brown color.

     Meanwhile, heat some oil, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves, dry chilli, Hing and salt.

    Aftet few minutes. Add 2-3 cup of curd and 1 cup of water into it. 

   Keep it aside. After frying vada as soon as drop vada's in curd. By this curd will easily enter into the vada and it will become so soft. 





   Set it for 30 minutes. 

    Serve it. You can also garnish it with some grind carrot and some pomegranate. But I like this way.


PREPARATION TIME : 3.30 HOURS

COOKING TIME : 30 MINUTES

TOTAL TIME : 4 HOURS

INGREDIENTS:

For vada preparation:

  • Urud dal -250g
  • Big onion - 1
  • Green chilli - 4
  • Salt as required
  • Coriander leaves - 1/4cup
  • Pepper - 1tsp
  • Backing soda - 1/2tsp
  • Oil as required
For curd vada preparation:
  • Curd - 2 - 3 cup and 1 cup of water
  • Dry chilli - 3
  • Curry leaves 
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Hing - 2 pinch
  • Salt as required.
METHOD:
  • Soak urud dal for 2-3 hours. Grind it on mixer as a thick fine paste without adding more amount of . Batter should be tight should not be watery.
  • Mix onion, coriander leaves, pepper, salt, backing powder, green chilli together. Add it on vada batter.
  • Heat the oil on kadai, to check the temperature of oil just drop the small amount of vada batter into the  oil, immediately it will rise up.
  • Dip your hand on water. And take small amount of vada batter and make small hole on center part by using thumb finger,  drop it on oil by slightly tilting your fingers.
  • Roast both the side of vada in medium flame till it become golden brown in color. Maintain the temperature.
  • Meanwhile, fry oil, mustard seeds, curry leaves, hing, salt and mix curd. Keep it aside.
  • After frying vadas drop it directly into curd. Allow it for 30mintue to absorb curd into vada.
  • Serve it. 
Other step:
For left over vada's:
  • Dip leftover vada in hot water for 4-5 minute. 
  • Drop it on curd. Through this vada will absorb and become soft.
  • Allow in curd for 30 minutes.
  • Serve Chill curd vada (taiyru vada) in hot summer.
